Native Ken Butler III as the driver
Aaron Rents Inc. and Scott Shore, president of Erohs Group LLC, have announced a new partnership with R3 Motorsports of China Grove, N.C.
It is a one-year agreement through which Aaron’s will be the primary sponsor of R3′s No. 23 Nationwide Series race team for 18 select races in 2009, with Snellville, Ga., native Ken Butler III as the driver.
Butler, the son of Aaron Rents’ chief operating officer Ken Butler, is scheduled to make his Nationwide Series debut at Auto Club Speedway on Feb. 21.
“All of us here at R3 Motorsports are proud to have Aaron’s on board for the 2009 NASCAR Nationwide season,” said Rob Fuller of R3 Motorsports.
“In today’s economic state we feel very fortunate to have Aaron’s on board to assist with the ever-growing expenses required to run competitively in the Nationwide Series. We look forward to representing the company in the manner which they deserve. This is a huge boost in the confidence level of our young team.”
The R3 sponsorship is in addition to Aaron’s current team sponsorship with Michael Waltrip Racing and will extend Aaron’s marketing reach throughout the NNS season.
The Aaron’s Lucky Dog Dream Machine will be on the track for 28 of the 35 NNS races, with 18 races by R3′s No. 23 car driven by Butler and 10 races with the No. 99 MWR entry driven by Michael Waltrip.
The two teams’ schedules are divided throughout the season and do not conflict with one another.
“Aaron’s continues its marketing presence in NASCAR as strongly as in years past,” said Robin Loudermilk, Aaron’s president and chief executive officer. “We are pleased to partner with R3 Motorsports in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2009.”
